The Autobiography of Guru Nitya Chaitanya Yati.
by Nitya Chaitanya Yati
Gurus are mysterious figures inspiring curiosity and reverence the world over, but what is it like to actually be one? What sets them apart at an early age, and what are the thought processes that lead them to be unique? As adults, how do they live their lives to optimize productivity and happiness? What exactly is wisdom, and what constitutes truth in its most all-encompassing form? In this remarkable and inspiring book, these central questions of life are explored with a disarming directness and candor.
Recounting a lifetime wandering among the swamis and spiritual teachers of India, this book is a rare adventure tale of the psyche. More than that, it is a wisdom transmission disguised as an autobiography.

About This Book
Overview
Guru Nitya was born into a feudal, matriarchal family in the jungle of South India, where wild tigers, elephants and snakes still roamed free. With a crystal clear recollection of the perspectives of childhood, the Guru unfolds the tale of an extraordinary thinker and seeker who pondered everything he encountered.
Rejecting the expectations of his family and society, he became a wandering sannyasin, traveling for many years throughout the length and breadth of India. Apprenticeships to Mahatma Gandhi, Ramana Maharshi, and G.H. Mees, punctuated with interactions with dozens of lesser-known sages, culminated in affiliation with the incomparable Nataraja Guru, thoroughgoing absolutist and founder of the wisdom school of the Narayana Gurukula.
After an intense, often stormy, discipleship, Nitya's manifold revelations led him to become the second guru of the Narayana Gurukula. Thereafter he traveled the world teaching in universities and ashrams, associating himself with sincere seekers wherever they could be found. Letters of spiritual and ethical instruction to about fifty of his thousands of followers around the globe reveal the inner story of this latter part of his life.
A feast of insights and poetically expressed wisdom awaits the reader in every episode of this unique narrative. Told in an endearing vernacular, it is an uplifting journey to be read and pondered for a lifetime.
